Kentucky Wildcats Gymnastics Tickets
As one of the eight collegiate gymnastics teams of the SEC Conference, the Kentucky Wildcats Women's Gymnastics team from the University of Kentucky has a solid history competing at the NCAA Division I level. Unlike elite international level gymnastics competitions that focus on individual medals, NCAA competitions emphasize the school team. With much of the focus on bolstering school spirit, NCAA Division I gymnastics competitions award both team and individual medals for each event apparatus in addition to the all-around medal. During a collegiate gymnastics competition, gymnasts from different teams perform on four different apparatus in the span of four rounds. The NCAA gymnastics season will eventually narrow down the 82 NCAA members to one final champion at the annual NCAA Championship. In 2018, the Kentucky Wildcats Gymnastics team finished fourth at the SEC Championships and second at the NCAA Regional Championships. Gymnasts compete on four different events, also known as apparatus - the floor exercise, vault, balance beam and the uneven bars. At the completion of a round, the lowest score of each team is dropped, and the teams move onto the next apparatus in a rotation format. At the end of the competition, the school's total score is totaled from all four rounds to determine the final ranking. Collegiate gymnastics competitions differ from international elite level competitions in several ways. Collegiate gymnastics competitions still use the 10.0 scoring system and emphasize team ranking as opposed to individual ranking as the means of qualification to Regional and National Championships.Where do the Kentucky Wildcats Gymnastics team compete?
