Aged 13, Kevin Parker and Dominic Simper came together in 1999 to start a band and over the following years would use their online presence on social media platform MySpace to grow an incredible fan base. They subsequently became the centre of a record label bidding war but would eventually sign with Modular Records in 2008 and produce their self-titled EP, with Parker playing every instrument on the recording himself. Inspired by groups from the Beatles, Pink Floyd and the Flaming Lips the band crafted a sound that would make waves throughout the world.

The EP performed strongly in the independent charts, allowing Parker to form a live band and support more established artists such as MGMT, Black Keys and You Am I on tour across Australia. The group then followed up debut album Innerspeaker with their Grammy Award winning sophomore effort Lonerism, and latest record Currents continued the trend of high quality and accessible indie rock, soaring to the top of the charts across the world. Including the hits 'Cause I'm a Man' and 'Let it Happen' this record sees Parker transition toward a new, streamlined sound, and it has gone down a storm with fans.
