In the decades since, the women’s gymnastics program at The University of Alabama has become a powerhouse of talent and athletic innovation. Led by Sarah Patterson for many of those years and now coached by Dana Duckworth, the Crimson Tide is consistently ranked in the top tiers of collegiate gymnastics. Since the Crimson Tide gymnastics team became a part of the athletic programs at Alabama, it has won six NCAA Championships, most recently in 2012, and nine Southeastern Conference Championships, most recently in 2015. For the season 2020, the program started out ranked as No. 10. The gymnasts have a loyal following, and Coleman Coliseum on campus is a great venue for their events. Her second year was just as successful, with the Tide finishing third in the NCAA Championships for their 23rd top-three national finish, the most in collegiate gymnastics.
