Officially opened in 1991 by athlete Linford Christie, this 12,700 capacity venue is one of Birmingham's best places to see all the latest touring artists and has recently undergone a £26-million re-development. Owned by the NEC group, the venue is situated in central Birmingham and hosts a variety of events from music concerts, to business conferences and exhibitions. The venue has also played host to championships, from gymnastics, to trampolining and even one of Michael Flatley's stage shows.
Live Events at Barclaycard Arena Birmingham
The state-of-the-art arena has held a huge variety of live performances in the last 20 years. The next few months see a whole host of different events come to the venue, from comedians like Kevin Bridges, to legendary rock group Status Quo. Not only that but jump forward into 2016 and Birmingham will be treated to the Strictly Coming Dancing Tour, the return of The Libertines, Muse's magnificent new Drones tour and even American super star Jason Derulo.
Situated in the heart of Birmingham city centre, the arena is only a short walk from Birmingham New Street train station. The venue also has an onsite car park with over 2,000 spaces.
