Kyobun - the heart of world culture
The Sapporo Education and Culture Hall welcomes you to join in a feast of cultural events with their unique programme that runs throughout the year. The Hall was opened as a hub for cultural and educational events in 1977 and has seen a host of incredible performances and displays ever since. You can expect to hear concerts and classical music recitals, watch theatrical, artistic, and dance performances at this terrific venue. With its seating capacity limited to 1,100 in the main hall, you can be sure of an intimate audience experience with an uninterrupted view of the main stage. Locals enjoy a close relationship with the hall that they affectionately refer to as ‘Kyobun’. Events such as art festivals and rehearsals, children’s workshops and other community projects regularly take place here. The Hall is not just reserved for locals, however, there is always a great selection of events open to the general public. The venue is not to be confused with the nearby Sapporo concert hall where fans have heard the delightful sounds of Sir Andras Schiff as he performed a piano recital to delighted audiences. StubHub offer Sapporo Education and Culture Hall tickets for all of these events, buy or sell yours today!
All of this and Girls2?
The hall was opened to fulfil a local need for artistic and creative events. The Hall proudly offers space for a diverse range of tastes and audiences to enjoy. Performing arts such as classical Japanese Noh, Kabuki, Kyogen and Buraku all have taken place at the Hall. Not to forget art festivals, awards nights, and theatre and opera performances. The red brick hall was designed by the Hokkaido architect, Yoshiya Tanoue, and stands out in contrast to the surrounding greenery. The hall sits next to an impressive 1926 building, formerly used as the Sapporo Court of Appeals, which has been transformed into a beautiful heritage venue that hosts concerts and other events for the general public to enjoy. If you are interested in other Japanese cultural events, why not check out the tickets for martial arts, music, and festivals? The hall has seen a catalogue of spectacular performances from artists including the renowned Girls2 who hail from the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. Other all-girl Japanese acts include Scandal, Lucie Too, and Mary’s Blood. Buy StubHub Sapporo Education and Culture Hall tickets for a great entertainment selection!
