Oregon Ducks Softball TicketsThe Oregon Ducks softball team will take the field in 2020 for head coach Melyssa Lombardi's second season. They are looking for a return to the glory that took them to the Women's College World Series as recently as 2018. The Ducks have been playing softball since 1974. They have amassed a 1,289-933-2 overall record since then, with five Pac-12 championships, including four in a row from 2013-16. They started strong, making the postseason in 1976, just two years after the program's launch. Since then, they have played in the postseason 22 times. In 2019, they missed the postseason for the first time since 2010. They have appeared in the Women's College World Series six times, including five trips to the tournament since 2012. Who is the Oregon Ducks' head softball coach?Melyssa Lombardi become the Oregon Ducks head softball coach on July 9, 2018. She is the program's 12th head coach. She joined Oregon after 21 years on the coaching staff at Oklahoma, including 11 as associate head coach. With direct responsibilities for pitchers and catchers, Lombardi played a strong role in four championships at Oklahoma, including back to back in 2016 and 2017. Lombardi was the 2017 Assistant Softball Coach of the Year for the NCAA's Division I. Lombardi's pitchers led the nation with a 1.12 ERA in 2018. Her teams have produced 20 All-Americans, two USA Softball Pitcher of the Year awardees and 77 All-Big 12 honorees. She graduated from Oklahoma in 1997 with a degree in health and sports science. She is a native of Glendale, Ariz.
Where do the Oregon Ducks softball games take place?The Oregon Ducks play their home games in Jane Sanders Stadium on 18th and University in Eugene, Ore. Named in honor of Oregon alumni Jane Sanders, Class of 1951, the university broke ground on the facility in June of 2015. The stadium features 1,500 permanent seats, including covered seating for 500 behind home plate. Another 1,000 fans can enjoy the game from the center field bleachers. In 2019, the Ducks averaged 1,925 fans per home game. The facility also features a team meeting room, film room, training room and batting practice cages. The field is artificial turf with a real dirt infield. The left-center-right dimensions are 200-225-200 feet.
What is the Oregon Ducks softball team's postseason record?Heading into the 2020 season, the Ducks are 74-47 overall in postseason play. The have made 20 trips to the NCAA Regionals where they have a 52-21 record. They have advanced to the Super Regionals nine times with a 12-10 record.
What was the Oregon Ducks softball team's record in 2019?The Ducks turned in a 22-30 overall record in 2019, including a 5-19 mark in Pac-12 play. Their conference record left them ninth in the league. Their 21-player roster included 10 freshmen. After starting 11-4, the Ducks lost 12 in a row. They rallied to a victory over top-ranked UCLA but lost eight of their last nine games.
