Northside Festival - one of Denmark's premier music events
Staged in the city of Aarhus, the three-day Northside Festival debuted on the circuit in 2010 and has quickly become one of Denmark's premier music events. Check out the range of Northside Festival tickets currently on offer on StubHub.
An environmentally-friendly festival
Not to be confused with the Brooklyn event of the same name, the Northside Festival takes place every June in Denmark's second city, Aarhus. The brainchild of promoter Brian Nielsen was first staged in 2010 as a one-day event at the public park Tangkrogen, where performers included local favourites Mew, Turboweekend and Nephew. A year later it moved to its permanent location of Ådalen and expanded to two days with headliners including more internationally-known names such as Interpol, Elbow and White Lies. In 2013, the Northside Festival became a three-day event, attracting 25,000 visitors to watch the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix and Keane. As well as showcasing some of the best pop and rock acts from across the world, the festival has also become renowned for its environmental initiatives. In 2017, every food and drink item sold on the premises was organic, while 91% of plastic cups sold during the event were returned for recycling. You can both buy and sell Northside Festival tickets on StubHub.
A strong homegrown presence
Although Northside Festival started out as a rock-focused event, it has since welcomed artists from the worlds of R&B, hip-hop, electronica, pop and soul to its Green, Red and Blue stages. Chemical Brothers, Earl Sweatshirt, Diplo, Run the Jewels, Underworld, Years & Years, Lana Del Rey and Thundercat are just some of the eclectic names who have graced the festival since it expanded to a three-day event in 2014, while more traditional guitar-based performers have included Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age, The National, Bloc Party, The Black Keys and Franz Ferdinand. Although the festival has attracted a whole host of international chart-toppers, it has also ensured that there's always a local presence too. Agnes Obel, Off Bloom, Lukas Graham, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Oh Land, WhoMadeWho and Choir of Young Believers are just a handful of the Danish acts who have appeared on the bill over the years, while other Scandinavian names have included Robyn, Ane Brun, Nina Persson, Kings of Convenience and Little Dragon.
