NCHC Frozen Faceoff Tickets
The Frozen Faceoff is the playoff tournament for the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. Originally, the NCHC playoff series didn't have this name. A fan poll in late 2013 gave the series its name, and the first Frozen Faceoff took place in 2014. That season, Denver claimed the championship. The Frozen Faceoff involves all eight teams in the conference. Every NCHC school makes it to the first round of the Frozen Faceoff. In that first round, the first-seeded team faces off the eighth-seeded team, seven plays two and so on. They take to the ice for a three-game series in that quarterfinal round. There are three rounds total in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff tournament. The semifinal and finals rounds are single-game playoffs. The NCHC Frozen Faceoff features some of the strongest teams in college hockey, including recent league-wide champions Minnesota Duluth, Denver and North Dakota. They fight hard to win this tournament in part because the winner gets an automatic berth at the NCAA Frozen Four.
