The Terrapins have appeared in the Semi-Final round of the tournament 25 times. Since taking over in College Park in 2011, Tillman has produced 53 All-American selections and 21 NCAA Tournament victories. Dougherty was a first-team All-American selection twice and was also honored with the Kelly Cup for being the top goalie in the nation on two occasions. Dougherty was selected as the nation's Outstanding Player in 1995 and was an All-NCAA Tournament team selection the same year. Dougherty was inducted into the University of Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008. Pete Worstell was both an All-ACC and All-American selection each of the four years he played lacrosse for the Maryland Terrapins. He is also the only Terrapin lacrosse player to earn All-American honors at two positions, midfield and attack. Worstell was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2010.
