Brian Jonestown Massacre Biography - Anton Newcombe's Mob Return

Hailing from San Francisco, these cult rockers formed in 1988 but didn't reach prominence until the release of their second album, Methodrone, in 1995. Their shoegaze and psych-driven sound was compounded in 1996 with their third release, Take It From The Man! along with two more full length releases that very same year. Later, lead singer Newcombe's abrasive edge was shown when he wrote 'Not if you Were the Last Dandy on Earth' about rival band The Dandy Warhols, who had directed a song of their own at him. Into the noughties they updated their sound with an electronic edge on 2003's �And This is our Music and 2008's experimental My Bloody Underground. Turning in on his own talents, Newcombe recorded the band's roaring comeback album Revelation in his Berlin home studio, releasing it in May 2014 to critical acclaim from a litany of respected global music journalists.
