The meteoric rise of the Bestival event

Bestival history must be one of the most successful in the music festival industry. Founded in 2004 by radio DJ Rob da Bank, it initially welcomed around 10,000 people to a park on the Isle of Wight for a weekend-long celebration of dance and indie music. Growing rapidly, by 2015 Bestival attendance was well over 50,000, and in 2017, the event was moved to larger premises on the Lulworth Estate in Dorset, leaving the Isle of Wight Festival to reign supreme on the island.
