Albany Great Danes Lacrosse Tickets
The Albany Great Danes are the official men's lacrosse team representing the University at Albany-SUNY in the NCAA Division I. Since its inception in 1970, the Great Danes have managed to progress steadily from Division III to Division I, and as of 2020, the Great Danes are one of the top-ranked college lacrosse teams in the nation. In the initial years of Division III, they were able to make it to the ECAC Division III tournament for the first time in 1975. Under coach Steve O'Shea, the Great Danes continued on with tournament appearances in 1992 and 1994, complemented by a high winning record in 1992. In 1995, promotion to Division II further improved the team's fortunes when Mark Wimmer led the men to their fourth tournament appearance in 1997; they made it to the finals. The team's consistently strong performances in the 1990s allowed the Great Danes to progress to Division I. Under coach Marr, the team started to see more wins, racking up eight Division I conference titles and eight tournament titles by the 2018 season. They went on to earn a spot in the 2018 NCAA semifinals.
