Who is the head coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide?Patrick Murphy is head coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide softball program and has been with the program since 1999. Almost from the very beginning of the softball program, Murphy has led the Crimson Tide to the top of the collegiate softball world. Murphy is the face of Crimson Tide softball. Under Murphy, the Crimson Tide won a 2012 National Championship, six SEC regular season and four SEC tournament titles. Murphy has also been an integral driving force behind the Crimson Tide's loyal fan base, who consistently fill the stands each season. Every year since 2008 has seen an increase in fan support with Alabama becoming the first NCAA program in history to average more than 3,000 fans per game in 2016. The following year saw a record attendance of 4,015 at the May 5 game against Auburn.

Recent enhancements include an expansion in 2011, which brought the seating capacity to its current number of 3,940. Other renovations have included a standing room concourse area with tables and drink rails and an expanded clubhouse that connects to a new indoor practice facility with three batting cages and a bullpen. The Crimson Tide softball program consistently enjoys a packed house every season with sold-out permanent grandstands full of season-ticketholders.

What is the schedule for the Alabama Crimson Tide softball team?Each year, the Crimson Tide softball team plays an intensive schedule against their strongest opponents, both in the Southeastern Conference and outside the SEC. They always begin their season participating in several invitational and classic tournaments for the pre-season that help set the tone for the season and position the team's rankings. The Joanne Graf Classic is hosted by the Seminoles and has been played since 2019, in honor of longtime Seminoles softball coach, Joanne Graf. Other tournaments on the Crimson Tide schedule include the Clearwater Elite Invitational, which is promoted by ESPN Events in partnership with Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater, and the Easton Bama Bash and Easton Crimson Classic, both long-time fan favorite tournaments hosted by the Crimson Tide. The schedule for the 2020 season is one of the toughest yet, including four teams from the 2019 Women's College World Series and five other teams that went to the 2019 NCAA Super Regionals.
