Will Young Biography - Singer Set for Success from an Early Age

Born to an affluent family in Berkshire, the singer expressed an interest in the arts from a young age, performing with theatre clubs and successfully becoming a member of a new boyband, manufactured by TV show This Morning, at 20 years old. Despite the group never fully getting off the ground, the star persevered, auditioning for talent show Pop Idol a year later and impressing the judges with his wide ranging falsetto, but maybe not so much with his dance moves! Believed to be the underdog in the competition the artist made it to the final with Gareth Gates and shocked 13.3 million viewers by leaving the show victorious. His winner's single 'Evergreen' went straight to the top of the charts and became the fastest selling debut in chart history.

The following years were of equal success, with records like 'Leave Right Now' and 'All Time Love' topping the singles charts and leading to multiple BRIT nominations. He even managed to squeeze in a performance with Elton John at his O2 Arena New Year show. Experimentations with different genres followed and by 2011 the singer had gone down a more electronic route with album Echoes.
