The Proclaimers - Scotland's Favourite Twins Touring New Album in 2016
Scottish twins Charlie and Craig Reid have enjoyed incredible success in their 30 year-long career and 2016 sees them back on the road once again in support of their new album Let's Hear It For the Dogs. 'You Built Me Up' might just be the hardest rocking song they've ever written, while 'Tuesday Afternoon' is a beautiful ballad full of the brothers' trademark harmonies. Despite the record having been out since last year, the boys are experiencing a high demand for their electric live performances - travelling all over the world with their back catalogue of hits, including the critically acclaimed 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' and 'I'm On My Way'. There are plenty of dates to choose from, at venues across the country, so grab The Proclaimers tickets now on StubHub UK.
The Proclaimers Biography - Rocking Duo Celebrating Three Decades in Music
Born in Leith, Craig and Charlie Reid grew up in Edinburgh, Cornwall and Auchtermuchty, playing their part in various punk bands during their school years. They took on their official moniker as a duo in 1983, and after sending a demo tape to The Housemartins they were invited on a tour of the UK. This exposure led to a slot on music TV programme The Tube, and the pair won praise for their infectious post-punk sound, proudly retaining their thick Scottish accents over melodic tracks about life, love and growing up in their home country.
Albums This is the Story and Sunshine on Leith found success in the UK, with 'Letter From America' peaking at number three and iconic single 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' finding huge popularity in America. After the release of record Hit the Highway though, the Reid twins retreated from the limelight, only returning seven years later with comeback album Persevere. This was the revitalisation of their career that they needed and another six albums followed in quick succession. The re-release of signature tune 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' as a Comic Relief charity single with Peter Kay proved a landmark event, landing the boys their first number one spot in the UK charts. Sunshine on Leith was also adapted for a feature film in 2013 before the boys returned with most recent record Let's Hear it for the Dogs in 2015. While 2017 marks the 30th anniversary of their debut LP This is the Story, the Reids have a packed schedule to complete first - get The Proclaimers tickets on StubHub UK.
