Kasabian: Leicester rockers at the top of their game in 2020
Since the release of their eponymous debut album in 2004, Kasabian have gone on to become one of the most popular bands of their generation. Led by Tom Meighan on vocals and the incomparable Sergio Pizzorno on guitar and songwriting duties, the Leicester-lads have created a unique, enduring and influential sound that has brought them six albums, a countless number of awards, and an almost automatic headline spot at any festival of their choosing.
Widely regarded as one of the most entertaining live bands in the world, Kasabian have twice won Q Magazine's "Best act in the world today" (2010 and 2014), while their performance at Glastonbury 2014 is one of the most talked about in the festival's history. After again thrilling crowds with a brilliant set of classics and new material during their headline slot at 2017's Leeds and Reading festivals, the band saw the year out with 12 sell out UK shows with rock/punk duo Slaves in support.

Kasabian: festival headliners showcase new album
Kasabian took the British music scene by storm in the early 2000s by experimenting with – and perfecting – a sound that happily sits somewhere between The Stone Roses and Primal Scream; with a mix of Happy Mondays, Oasis, and DJ Shadow-influenced electronics thrown in for good measure.
With anthemic singles including "Club Foot", "L.S.F" and "Cutt Off", their self-titled first record became the soundtrack of a generation of music fans, with 2006 follow-up Empire selling over 1-million copies worldwide and shooting to number one in the UK charts. Third album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum was the first to not feature guitarist Christopher Karloff, but the band continued to go from strength to strength as the release was nominated for the 2009 Mercury Prize. The dancier elements of their debut moved more to the fore on the critically acclaimed 48:13, a barnstorming effort that thrilled fans during the band's legendary headline slot at Glastonbury 2014.
In May 2016 the band played two concerts at Leicester City Football Club's ground, the King Power, to celebrate their home town side winning the Premier League, and teased a number of tracks from their forthcoming sixth album. For Crying Out Loud was released to critical acclaim in May 2017, with the band following it up with festival appearances at Leeds, Reading and Glasgow, and 12 UK shows.
