Greenville Drive TicketsThe team known today as the Greenville Drive can trace its history back to 1983 and South Carolina's capital city, Columbia. Then known as the Columbia Mets, the team was the Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Between the 1983 and 1992 seasons, the team won two league championships and made the postseason three other times. In 1993, the team name changed to the Capital City Bombers. Their winning ways continued as the team made six playoff appearances in the next 11 seasons, including winning another South Atlantic League championship in 1998. The 2004 season would be the team's last in Columbia as they would move to Greenville for the 2005 season. The relocation to Greenville also brought a new parent organization, the Boston Red Sox. It wasn't until 2006 that the team would become the Greenville Drive of today. While the first couple seasons were a struggle, including a 58-81 record in 2007, the team won the 2017 league title.
