Dizzee Rascal: grime master back with new album Raskit
It's almost 15 years since little known Dizzee Rascal released his Mercury Prize winning debut album Boy In Da Corner. In the decade and a half since, he has shaped the grime genre in his own image – topping the charts with anthems such as "Bonkers" and "Dirtee Disco" along the way – and won a string of musical awards: an impressive achievement, particularly for a boy that hails from one of London's toughest estates.
Still only 32, he is already one of the best-selling and longest enduring artists on the grime and hip-hop scene: releasing six albums; scoring five number one singles; and collecting BRIT, Urban and NME awards. Dizzee's live performances are some of the most high energy concerts in the business, while he commands an almost automatic headline spot at any festival of his choosing.
With a huge back catalogue to choose from – as well as material from his brilliant new album Raskit – no two shows are likely to be the same. So what are you waiting for? Buy Dizzee Rascal tickets at StubHub UK today.
Dizzee Rascal: British superstar on top of the world
Despite facing regular suspensions from school, Dylan Mills excelled at music as a youngster, producing beats on a second-hand computer. After competing in various underground MC battles, he became one of the forerunners of a new sound that would come to be known as grime: a crossbreed of UK garage, hip hop and DnB. Upon the release of his debut album Boy in Da Corner in 2003 (aged just 18) he was catapulted to international fame. Tracks like "Fix Up Look Sharp" and "I Luv You" spoke to a generation of fans and helped the album become recognised as one of the best records of this century.
Fast forward to 2017 and Dizzee Rascal is now one of Britain's most-loved superstars, soaring to the top of the charts with progressive hits like "Dance Wiv Me" and "Bonkers"; scoring gold sales figures for Showtime and Maths + English; and taking Tongue n' Cheek platinum in 2009. It was four more years, in 2013, before Dizzee Rascal released his fifth album, aptly named The Fifth; headlining the opening ceremony of the London Olympics and collaborating with the likes of DJ Fresh and Calvin Harris in the intervening period. Having teased out the track "Space", he then released Raskit to critical acclaim in 2017.
