What conference do the Denver Pioneers play in?For much of their existence in Division I, the Pioneers have been conference nomads. The team started briefly as an Independent before moving to the Sun Belt Conference. However, travel costs were a difficulty for the school's budget, and the Pioneers then briefly played in the Western Athletic Conference for one year. After that single season, the Pioneers switched to the Summit League, where they have played since the 2013 season.
What is the Denver Pioneers’ postseason history?Denver has never made reached the NCAA Tournament. The Pioneers had their best chance when they were in the WAC but were upset as the second seed in the conference tournament. The Pioneers have qualified for several other postseason tournaments. In 2013, Denver made the National Invitation Tournament and reached the second round before losing to Maryland. The Pioneers made several appearances in the NCAA Division II basketball tournament during their time in D2.
