Cage the Elephant: Grammy award-winning hitmakers
Experts at warping sixties northern soul, seventies Americana and eighties alt into wonderfully weird new shapes, Kentucky's favourite sons Cage the Elephant continue to produce genre-bending shows and records. After a busy 2014 touring with The Black Keys in the UK and US, the band emerged from the studio with Tell Me I'm Pretty, an album full of fresh material to captivate a new generation of fans.

Cage the Elephant: hometown heroes to headline tours
Brothers Matt & Brad Schultz and close friend Jared Champion came together to form Perfect Confusion at high school, a band with an altogether more eclectic style than their current signature sound. Not content with limited hometown success, the trio began recruiting, and during the spring of 2006 Daniel Tichenor and Lincoln Parish completed the original line up. New members call for a new name; legend suggests that the quartet's mysterious moniker was inspired by the mad ramblings of a goatee-touting, clandestine-eccentric who accosted them after a show in Knoxville, Tennessee. That, or it came from a game on the back of a cereal box - the band have given contrasting answers in interviews, so we may never know for sure.
In late 2007, the band signed to Relentless Records after a seminal performance at SXSW music festival. A support slot for the Pigeon Detectives beckoned in early 2008, followed by the group's self-titled debut album. The lead single, "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked", garnered both commercial and critical success, before punk-inspired effort Thank You, Happy Birthday was released in 2011 Grammy nominated Melophobia (Best Alternative Music Album) in 2015.
Recent years have seen the band return to the studio for their fourth LP Tell Me I'm Pretty, produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Tinged with 1970s Americana, the album won the award for Best Rock Album at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.
