Yungblud - socially conscious genre bender
Self-described as "a socially conscious artist unafraid of delivering genre-bending protest songs," Yungblud combines the hip-hop-inspired post-punk of Jamie T with the anthemic early indie-rock of fellow Yorkshiremen Arctic Monkeys. Catch him in action by booking your Yungblud tickets on StubHub today.
A teen drama soundtrack regular
Born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire in 1997, Dominic Harrison grew up in a musical family, with his father a vintage guitar dealer and his grandfather a one-time player with glam rock legends T. Rex. Inspired by the likes of Bob Dylan, The Beatles and The Clash, Harrison picked up the guitar at a young age and later dropped out of his studies at the age of 16 to pursue his music ambitions in London. He first gained attention in 2016, when he landed the role of Oz in Disney's British musical drama, The Lodge. A year later, he released his debut single, King Charles, to critical acclaim under the moniker of Yungblud and scored a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart with I Love You, Will You Marry Me?. After signing to Geffen Records, he released a self-titled EP and a debut album, 21st Century Liability, while he became something of a teen drama soundtrack regular, with his music appearing on both comic book adaptation, Runaways, and Netflix hit, 13 Reasons Why. You can both buy and sell Yungblud tickets on StubHub now.
Expect organised chaos
With his anarchic attitude, natural swagger and effortless charisma, Yungblud has quickly established himself as one of the U.K.'s most compelling young live performers. Typically decked out in his trademark hoodie and guyliner, and often entering the stage with a ghetto blaster over his shoulder, the Yorkshireman delivers a thrilling blend of post-punk, hip-hop, indie-rock and protest music while accompanied by a tight backing band. Fans should expect to hear singles including Tin Pan Boy, Polygraph Eyes, Psychotic Kids and a solo version of his Charlotte Lawrence collaboration, Falling Skies, as well as all the other highlights from his acclaimed debut album, 21st Century Liability. Renowned for his distinctive way with words, it's unsurprising that Yungblud also converses with the crowd in between songs in a friendly, approachable and humorous manner. But the youngster isn't averse to the odd bit of chaos either, and shows can often conclude with him smashing one of his many guitars to pieces.
