The Pigeon Detectives Biography - Head-Bobbing Indie-Pop
Meeting at the age of 12, the group eventually formed in 2004, and after performing for a few months on the live circuit the band began to gain attention from the music press. After signing to indie label Dance to the Radio the quintet released the single 'I'm Not Sorry', which brought the group their biggest success when it charted at Number 12. Debut album Wait for Me followed close on its heels in May 2007 and thanks to the buzz generated by a leaked version of the record found on the net, the album skyrocketed to Number Three and achieved gold status soon after its release.
Picked up by some of radio's biggest DJs - including Steve Lamacq and Zane Lowe - the group soon found themselves supporting the likes of Kaiser Chiefs on tour. Follow-up album Emergency also entered the Top Five, and just two years later they were already releasing a third record - Up, Guards and at 'Em!. Their incredible on-stage energy and fast-paced shows have seen the group stir whole venues into a sweaty frenzy with their retro sound.
