Super Furry Animals - Fuzzy Logic / Radiator Tour
Fresh from a six-year hiatus with a successful run of gigs in 2015, Cardiff's rock 'n' roll heroes have delighted fans further by announcing a UK and Ireland tour. They'll perform critically acclaimed albums Fuzzy Logic and Radiator in full each night, so this a rare treat for fans to hear classic songs from 1996 and 1997. The band perform at some illustrious UK venues like London's Roundhouse, Birmingham's O2 Institute and Nottingham's Rock City, before bowing out with a flourish in their hometown at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena. As if the live dates weren't enough on their own, a remastered version of landmark LP Fuzzy Logic arrives in November too, so you can brush up on their classics in high definition sound before you see the show. Also in the works is a best of compilation called ZOOM! The Best of Super Furry Animals, 1995-2016. The first disc is packed with fan favourites ('Golden Retriever' and 'Hello Sunshine' are sure to star) from the Welsh group's 20-year tenure, while bonus disc Lost On the Bypass Road is full of unreleased tracks from the band's archive. With an original sound that's influenced by electronica and psychedelic music, grab highly sought-after Super Furry Animal tickets on StubHub UK for a place in the crowd.
Super Furry Animals Biography - Welsh Icons Two Decades in the Making
One of the most exciting bands to come out of Wales in the 1990s, Super Furry Animals found their roots in techno before transitioning to indie, and their original 1993 line-up was made up of Catatonia's Dafydd Ieuan, bass guitarist Guto Pryce and none other than actor Rhys Ifans. In Cardiff, they got together with Huw Bunford and Cian Ciaran to flesh out their sound. After switching out Rhys Ifans for lead singer Gruff Rhys, the Welsh group made their public debut in 1995, releasing their first two EPs in that year. The band caught a break when Pulp chose 'Hometown Unicorn' as their Single of the Week, and 'God! Show Me Magic' did even better, reaching No. 33 in the UK charts. The success of these singles led to the release of their critically acclaimed album Fuzzy Logic, an early highlight of an impeccable career. Nine studio albums arrived between 1996 and 2009 before the boys announced a break in 2010 so that individual members could pursue other projects. Much to their fans' delight though, in 2015 they announced a tour to coincide with the reissue of their album Mwng, which proved so successful that another tour was announced for 2016 - with Fuzzy Logic and Radiator getting the reboot this time.
