Situated in the heart of Nottingham, this is a venue that offers much more than just live music. There is something for everyone, with club nights and even a lounge for chilling out. If you like rock music and want to soak up the atmosphere in one of the UK's most vibrant cities, be sure to buy Rock City tickets on StubHub!
Designed for rock concerts
With a capacity of over 2,000 and four different bars for patrons to enjoy, hardly a day goes by that this place does not have some truly show-stopping acts in town! Amongst the best-selling Rock City tickets were those for Garbage in September 2018. Garbage was most famous for singing the theme to the 1999 James Bond film "The World Is Not Enough". Then, the following month, there was an appearance from Reverend and the Makers, who hit the headlines in 2007 with their seminal album "The State of Things". Ten years later, this band proved its longevity by once more breaching the album charts' top ten with "The Death of a King". October 2018 also saw former X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan in action, and towards Christmas, there was something extra special for Generation Y: All Saints touched down in Nottingham in early December, performing classics such as "Pure Shores", which was a Platinum-selling chart topper in the spring of 2000. The best thing about Rock City, though, is the fact that tickets are often available many months before they hit the stage!
Rock City: dominant since 1876
The history of the venue dates back to 1876, when it opened as an ice-skating rink. Before long, it would be transformed into a venue for variety shows. More recently, the place was bought out in the early 1980s and redesigned with rock concerts in mind. In December 1980, Orange Juice (a support act for world-famous Irish rock group The Undertones) became the first band to play a gig there, and it was around that time the venue started designing special nights for the student populace. In the 1990s, the venue embraced the advent of grunge and Britpop. It continued to move with the times, eventually making history in November 2015 when an unsigned band called Ferocious Dog sold out there. Above all, buying Rock City tickets on StubHub guarantees a diverse experience, with many alternative and indie bands growing within its famous walls!
