NOFX: iconic punk rockers to visit UK
With thirteen studio albums, 17 EPs and countless world tours under their belts, NOFX are one of the most successful and enduring punk bands of their generation. Despite multiple offers, the group have always refused to sign with a major record label which, in turn, makes their success – record sales of eight million and a gold certified US album – all the more remarkable.
Now widely considered a classic punk album 1994's Punk in Drublic sold over a million copies worldwide without any radio play or music videos, while ninth studio album The War on Errorism (2003) is famous for its political nature and the beginnings of the group's anti-George W. Bush campaign. Still at it after three decades, they return to the UK this year for more of their brilliantly unpredictable live shows: grab NOFX tickets at StubHub today and be part of the crowd.
NOFX: one of the most successful independent bands of all time
Growing from the fertile 80s West Coast punk scene, Fat Mike, El Hefe, Eric Melvin and Erik Sandin have been bringing their brand of politically charged, and often comedic, punk rock to fans for over three decades – and they show no sign of slowing down just yet. Rising to fame as part of the Epitaph Records stable of bands (which also included the likes of Pennywise, Bad Religion and Rancid), they hit the relative mainstream in 1994 with the release of the now iconic Punk in Drublic. Featuring tracks such as "Don't Call Me White" and "Linoleum", the album was the band's first RIAA Gold certified record and has gone on to sell over a million copies worldwide.
Building an ever-growing fan base through raucous live shows and a steady stream of releases, the band became increasingly politically focused in the 2000s, culminating in 2003's The War On Errorism. With tracks such as "Idiots Are Taking Over" pointing both barrels towards the then US President George W. Bush (who they waged a sustained campaign against), the release also marked the move from Epitaph Records to Fat Mike's own label – Fat Wreck Chords. The band recorded three nights of performances in San Francisco for their critically acclaimed second live album They've Actually Gotten Worse Live! in 2007, and have released three more studio albums in the last decade: Coaster (2009); Self Entitled (2012); First Ditch Effort (2016).
