Taylor Swift: pop superstar announces Eras 2024 UK tour
10 Grammy awards; five Guinness World Records; an Emmy; a Brit Award; over 42 million albums and 130 million singles sold; and some of the catchiest, most memorable pop songs ever written (think "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", "22" and "Shake It Off") – few artists in the history of pop music have experienced the meteoric rise to superstardom quite like Taylor Swift.
Still only 27, Swift is already one of the top-20 best-selling artists of all time and ranks among the wealthiest and most influential musicians on the planet. Her razor-sharp songwriting has helped her deliver six studio albums – all of which have sold at least five million copies – while the fever and anticipation surrounding her latest release Reputation was representative of an artist who is on top of the world. "Look What You Made Me Do" – the album's first single – was watched more than 43.2 million times during its first 24 hours on YouTube, smashing the previous record (held by Korean pop star Psy) by over 7 million views.
Even by Swift's standards, Reputation has been a phenomenal success; with a massive world tour now set to follow. The "Look What You Made Me Do" hitmaker will perform in London, Manchester and Dublin in June 2018 with her extravagant and high-energy concerts boasting some of the most consistently-high review scores in the industry.
So don't miss your chance to see pop's biggest superstar live in the UK, make sure you buy Taylor Swift tickets at StubHub now.
Taylor Swift: from country music princess to pop royalty
Taylor Swift's career began in 2006 with the release of her eponymous debut album, and single "Tim McGraw" was an early sign of the success to come. Fearless followed in 2008, topping the charts in the United States and becoming the country's best-selling album of 2009. Thirteen of its songs charted within the top forty of the Billboard Hot 100, breaking the record for the most top forty entries from a single album.
Swift's third studio album, Speak Now (2010), debuted at number-one in the United States, and charted within the top ten in several countries, as her success began to spread to the likes of Australia, Canada, and the UK. But it was Red (2012) that officially launched her to worldwide stardom: her first number one album in the United Kingdom, it included huge international hits "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble".
1989 (released in 2014) is Swift's biggest-selling album to date, although critics are predicting that 2017's Reputation could eventually top that success. Like "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "Blank Space" before it, Swift uses the album's first single – "Look What You Made Me Do" – to take aim at her enemies, with the new album showcasting the beginnings of a darker, more ferocious Taylor Swift.
