MHSAA Basketball Finals Tickets
The MHSAA basketball tournament brings together the best teams from across the state of Michigan to determine the annual championship. There are four champions at the end of each season, one for each division. Schools are classified according to their enrollment size into roughly equal divisions. Teams from different divisions do not cross over to play each other in the tournament. Past championship games in Michigan high school basketball have featured a number of famous players, including Earvin "Magic" Johnson (1977 champion with Lansing Everett), Spencer Haywood (1967 champion with Detroit Pershing), Glen Rice (1984 and 1985 champion with Flint Northwestern) and Chris Webber (three-time champion with Detroit Country Day between 1989 and 1991), all of whom went on to have prolific careers in college and the NBA. If you want to catch some of the best basketball players in the state of Michigan, then you should purchase MHSAA Basketball Finals tickets at StubHub, a leading source for live events. What is the format of the tournament?
The MHSAA tournament is comprised of various stages through which teams progress. These include the district rounds, the regional rounds, the quarterfinals round and then the semifinals and finals. Schools are divided up into 32 districts within each division. The district winners will advance to one of eight regional rounds in each division. The eight regional champions then advance to the quarterfinals round. The tournament proceeds as normal through the semifinals and finals stages. The first few stages feature different host sites as determined by the MHSAA selection committee. The districts and regions are set up so that teams won’t have to travel far to participate in the tournament. The committee also has the right to relocate the quarterfinals game depending on who is in it. The semifinals and finals always take place at a neutral site college venue (usually the Breslin Center though the Crisler Arena has also served as the host). All games are single elimination, so schools will be eliminated from the tournament after one loss. When does the tournament take place?
