Born in Buxton, England, the singer met the future members of The Commotions while studying English in the University of Glasgow. After shaping the large soul band into a quartet, they released debut album Rattlesnakes to intense critical acclaim, boosted by the single 'Perfect Skin'. Littered with literary and pop culture references, the work of this group eventually allowed their singer to gain international recognition.

After the group disbanded, his solo work allowed him to play around with his sound, stripping it back to create everything from polished pop to entirely instrumental records. Now in 2016, this prolific artist is performing in London's Union Chapel, a working church that will provide an atmospheric backdrop to an evening of phenomenal music.
