Paul McCartney: music's most successful songwriter to play three UK shows in 2018
One of the world's most influential musicians and one half of music's most revered songwriting duo, Sir Paul McCartney will close out 2018 with three huge UK concerts this December. The Beatles legend will be returning to Liverpool for his first UK live tour date in three years on 12 December before playing Glasgow's SSE Hydro Arena and then the O2 in London.
"I can’t wait to finish the year on such a high by partying in Liverpool, Glasgow and London.
"We’ve freshened up the show since our last time round and we are excited to get to play some of our new songs alongside some of the favourites," Sir Paul said.

Paul McCartney: from Beatlemania to MBE
Hailing from Liverpool, the now legendary Paul McCartney was encouraged in his musical pursuits by his father from an early age, quickly picking up the piano and later cheekily trading a trumpet from his parents for an acoustic guitar after becoming influenced by rock and roll. Incredibly, as a teenager the singer was already composing what would become some of the Beatles' biggest singles including "When I'm Sixty-Four".
McCartney was just 15 years old when he met John Lennon (then a member of the Quarrymen) and joined the performer as a rhythm guitarist. The group recruited George Harrison and went through a number of name changes before settling on what is now the music's most recognisable moniker. After completing their line-up with the addition of Ringo Starr, the band scored their first hit with "Love Me Do", triggering a wave of "Beatlemania" that would see the band inspire an almost religious level of devotion among fans. During this time McCartney came into his own as a songwriter, creating timeless hits such as haunting balled and phenomenally successful single "Yesterday". The band continued to experiment and move with the times, producing pioneering works such as Rubber Soul and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band; widely believed to be rock's first concept album.
Since the Beatles' dissolution at the end of the 60s, McCartney has gone on to be hailed as the most successful songwriter in music history, with 60 gold discs and 91 top 10 singles to his name. The star continues to adapt with the times, proving his decades-spanning appeal more recently with a collaboration with Rihanna and Kanye West on singles "FourFiveSeconds" and "All Day".
Winner of the coveted Gershwin Prize and the BRIT Award for Outstanding Contributions to Music, it's no surprised that Sir Paul McCartney continues to fill arenas across the world. He returns with a new album - Egypt Station - in 2018, and plays Glasgow, Liverpool and London in December. So don't miss your chance to see a legend live: buy Paul McCartney tickets now at StubHub.
