Everything Everything: Electro-falsetto pioneers
Electro-falsetto pioneers and pretty handy with a laptop, Everything Everything first came together in late 2007 in Manchester and have gone on to critically acclaimed success with three hit albums. The band's eclectic style has earned them a place on the Mercury Prize shortlist and five Ivor Novello nominations for their intricate merging of math rock, 1980s electronica and sounds replicating mobile phone interference.
After BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe named single "Distant Past" the hottest record in the world the music channels were abuzz in anticipation for the band's new album A Fever Dream, which landed in the top five on its release in August last year, since then the band have continued to tour extensively through the UK. Everything Everything: Manchester hitmakers
Meeting at school, Everything Everything looked to take elements of popular R&B music and give it a futuristic edge. Their unique style and synth-heavy pop beats gained the attention of music producers and, by 2008, they were working with Bat For Lashes producer David Kosten, leading to the release of debut single "Suffragette Suffragette". This contributed to the band making the longlist of the BBC Sound of 2010 and they were quickly signed up by Geffen Records, releasing their first official single "Schoolin" in June of that year. Everything Everything's debut album Man Alive was released just a couple of months later, meeting with critics' praise and setting them apart from any specific identity clique. The exciting and slightly eccentric album was also nominated for the 2011 Mercury Prize.
Second album Arc received similar applause, for its honest style and storytelling lyricism, with track "Kemosabe" winning UK Single of the Year at the Music Producers Guild Awards in 2014. During a brief break from touring the group returned to the studio to work on material for their third album. Get to Heaven was released in June 2015, again to great critical acclaim and was influenced by a year's worth of news, from the Ebola outbreak to the rise of UKIP. Fourth album A Fever Dream was the band's highest charting yet, reaching number four on the UK Albums chart in 2017.
