The team finished their 2004 season with 51 wins, a program and school record. Similarly, the 2019 season record was 47-18. The Pirates baseball team holds the titles to five NCAA Regional Championships and one National Championship with NAIA in 1961. A total of 35 former Pirates players and coaches were inducted into the ECU Athletics Hall of Fame. He has helped lead the Pirates to four NCAA Regionals, two Super Regionals and the regular season title for the American Athletic Conference. Under Godwin’s guidance, 66 Pirates players have been included on the American All-Academic Team by keeping a 3.0 GPA. Prior to coming to ECU, Godwin served as associate head coach or assistant coach at UNC Wilmington, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, LSU, UCF and Ole Miss. Godwin is assisted by Associate Head Coach-Recruiting Coordinator, Jeff Palumbo; Assistant Coach-Pitching Coach, Jason Dietrich; Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, Brandon Golden and Volunteer Assistant Coach, Austin Knight.
