This Canadian rock group have sold over 15-million records in their illustrious career, spanning over 25 years, since they first came to prominence in the early '90s. Known for their light hearted and humorous performance style, the band have gone on to receive multiple Grammy nominations and record the theme song to popular US TV show The Big Bang Theory. The group's style encompasses an array of genres, including pop, rock, rap and hip hop. Barenaked Ladies Biography - Back With Silverball

The band began as the duo consisting of Ed Robertson and Steven Page, after the two grew up together in Canada. After recruiting a further three members, the band started to catch attention as they performed their newly written material locally. Eventually this lead to their first commercial release in 1991, The Yellow Tape. Self-released, they distributed the record at gigs and after a scandal that led to them being taken off the bill for a local New Year celebration caught the attention of the media, sales of the EP sky rocketed. After years of being rejected by record labels, they were finally signed by Sire Records in 1992, releasing their first album Gordon later in the year.

After seeing years of success in Canada the band made their breakthrough in America in 1998 with album Stunt. The lead single 'One Week' also hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Jump forward to 2004 and the group has made their own record label Desperation Records, which led to the release of independent album Barenaked for the Holidays. After the departure of Steven Page in 2009, the group continued as a trio, releasing album All in Good Time in 2010. Now a few years on, they are back with their 12th studio album and a series of live dates in the UK that promise to be fun-filled nights of singing, dancing and maybe even a bit of rap improvisation.
