Westminster Central Hall and its prominent role
The construction of Methodist Central Hall was funded entirely by the "Million Guinea Fund": donations solicited from the Weslyan-Methodist community in England between 1898 and 1908 for the purpose of answering cultural, scientific, philanthropic, social and educational questions. Construction was completed in 1912 and from that time on, this site has truly lived up to its mandate in all those areas with an impressive resume. Westminster Central Hall is like Union Chapel London, St. Pancras Old Church and St. John on Bethnal Green as other churches that double as concert venues. The crown jewel of the Westminster Central Hall is its Great Hall, an impressive structure with 2,400 capacity that has welcomed some of the most celebrated figures in modern world history such as Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela while being the location of the first ever meeting of the United Nations in 1946. British Prime Minister Winston Churchill also made a speech here at the Conservative party conference in 1945. With credentials like this, there is no doubt that it's one of the most sought-after spaces in the all of London. Westminster Central Hall tickets are available now for purchase or sale via StubHub.
