The Green Wave of New Orleans officially joined the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association in 1895. Home games are held at the Yulman Stadium on the school's campus since 2014. Before Yulman was built, home games took place at the Superdome. The football program also boasts 19 All-American players including Jerry Dalrymple and Don Zimmerman. The team has played its way to nine conference titles. Its most intense rivalry takes place against the LSU Tigers. The Green Wave has appeared in 12 bowl games. There, the squad has a record of 5-7. Its first bowl appearance was at the Sugar Bowl in 1935, when it was hosted in its home stadium. Tulane won that game, defeating Temple in a 20-14 victory.
