Nevertheless, it didn’t take the American record labels long until they knocked at the group’s door and international success was beckoning. With 10 studio albums already under their belt, and an additional 7 compilation albums to go with, Stereolab announced a hiatus in 2009, which left a huge gap in the Avant-pop music genre. But fans didn’t need to worry – after 10 years' break, the band returned to the stage, announcing their reunion in 2019 and giving thousands and thousands of fans a reason to celebrate.
