St James Park
St James Park: home of Newcastle United
After relegation from the Premier League in 2016, Newcastle United had to once again fight their way back into the Premier League. One of the keys to their success was having one of the most impressive stadiums in the country. It is, however, more than simply about football, and these days St James Park tickets bought via StubHub can be for just about anything!
A football stadium for the big league
Of course, we don't recommend telling a Newcastle native that their stadium isn't just for football! Football is more than a sport on Tyneside - it is a way of life. With Rafael Benitez seeing Newcastle into the 2018/19 season, entertainment was to be expected; more St James Park tickets were selling than ever before. After the club survived its return to the Premier League in 2017/18, no time was wasted in getting top talents into the club. Kenedy (from Chelsea) and Salomon Rondon arrived on loan, having already experienced the demands of Premier League football. Hungry to prove themselves, they were joined by others that shared the same ambition, such as Ki Sung-yueng, Fabian Schar and Yoshinori Muto. Those signings added to what was already a solid squad, and attacking midfielder Matt Ritchie began the 2018/19 season as the key playmaker for the many forwards on the roster. Talent aside, the stadium will always be a part of what makes Newcastle United such a special club; their attendance will continue to be excellent - even when the team hasn't been playing well!
St James Park: more than a football stadium
The venue has been witness to some of the greatest matches seen on English soil, including Newcastle's famous 5-0 win over Manchester United in 1996 and their 3-2 defeat of Barcelona the following year. Apart from football, the stadium has also been host to rugby league's "Magic Weekend" for the past four years. It has also hosted rugby union matches including, during the 2015 World Cup, serving as the host of an England warm up game before their 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign. May 2019 would also bring European Challenge Cup action to the venue, further cementing its reputation for versatility. Sport aside, the stadium is also a great concert venue, with 50,000 flocking to see Ed Sheeran in June 2018. It has even been in various bits of television and film too. So if you're stuck for something to do on the weekend, be sure to get St James Park tickets via StubHub and enjoy the fun!
