Simple Plan Biography - Pop Punk Rockers Make it Big
Lead singer Pierre Bouvier and drummer Chuck Comeau were originally part of the group Reset, but split the band after deciding to form a new project with Jeff Stinco and Sebastien Lefebvre. Once bassist David Desrosiers joined, the new band was complete, and the Canadian quintet set about penning the tracks for their debut record. 2002's No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls featuredvocal contributions from Joel Madden from Good Charlotte and Mark Hoppus from Blink 182, and was an instant hit. The band's emotionally driven songs of personal experience struck a chord with their audience, going on to sell over 4 million copies worldwide.
Since then, the dynamic five-piece have released successful studio albums Still Not Getting Any, Simple Plan and Get Your Heart On, with the standout teen anthems 'Welcome to My Life' and 'I'm Just a Kid' establishing them at the forefront of the pop punk scene in Canada.
