Shakira: El Dorado world tour heading to UK in 2018
Seven Billboard Music Awards; two Grammys; five MTV Video Music Awards; a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; over 70 million albums sold; and some of the catchiest, most memorable pop songs ever made (think "Whenever, Wherever", "Hips Don't Lie" and "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" – few artists in the history of pop music can claim to have had a career to match that of Shakira.
15 years after "Whenever, Wherever" propelled her to worldwide fame, Shakira is now one of the top-30 best-selling artists of all time and ranks among the wealthiest and most influential musicians on the planet. Her prolific songwriting abilities have helped her deliver eleven studio albums – including 2001's Laundry Service, which is one of the best-selling of all time – while her official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" became the biggest-selling World Cup song of all time with 10 million downloads and almost 1.7 billion views on YouTube.
After the release of her latest record El Dorado in May last year, the Colombian pop star has announced that she is bringing her world tour to the UK; with a show scheduled for the O2 in London on 11 June. The show will be Shakira’s first in the UK since 2010, when she sold out the O2 and played Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.
The singer, 40, said: "I can’t wait to be onstage in London again singing along with all of you, all of your favourites and mine."

Shakira: Latin America's biggest star
A childhood musical prodigy, Shakira's debut album - Magia - was recorded with Sony Music Colombia in 1990 when she was only 13 years old. However, it wasn't until her 1998 fourth album ¿Dónde Están los Ladrones? (Where Are the Thieves?) that her star really began to rise. Commercially, the album was a huge success and, crucially, cracked the US market.
Crossing over into English language at just the right time, "Whenever, Wherever" was released ahead of her first (mostly) English album Laundry Service in late 2001, and propelled her to worldwide stardom almost overnight. Less than a year after its release, Laundry Service had gone triple platinum.
Extensive worldwide touring followed, before Oral Fixation (including bonus track "Hips Don't Lie") brought Shakira further chart success. Disco-driven She Wolf (2009) was another huge chart success, before Shakira became a TV personality in the US; replacing Christina Aguilera as a coach on musical talent show The Voice.
11th album El Dorado (2017) was preceded by single "Me Enamore", with Shakira announcing a massive world tour to support the record in 2018. Don't miss out! Buy Shakira tickets now at StubHub.
