First opened in 1889, Bristol County Ground is steeped in history. The founding figure of the ground was legendary cricketer W. G. Grace, considered to be one of the most important people in the development of the sport. W. G. A revamped modern venue

In 2013 the Bristol County Ground underwent a redevelopment that saw the permanent capacity increased to 8,000 with the ability to add an extra 9,500 temporary seats for major matches. The revamping of the venue also included a new pavilion and broadcasting facilities. Bristol County Ground hosted its first international match in 1983, as part of the World Cup.
