Renowned for his big toothy grin, cheeky chappy persona and amusing everyman tales, Rob Beckett has gradually worked his way up the comedy ladder to become one of the UK's most likable funnymen. The South East Londoner is not only a popular figure on the stand-up circuit; he's also a regular face on TV panel shows, the host of a football-themed radio programme and the presenter of a reality show spin-off.
Following in the footsteps of Peter Kay, Michael McIntyre and Jason Manford, Rob Beckett is an unabashed crowd-pleaser whose observational routines focus on the minutiae of everyday life. With a casual and conversational delivery style, the comedian instantly endears himself to his audience, who, thanks to his nice guy persona and populist material, is typically made up of all ages. Offering anecdotes on everything from the method of eating Kit Kats, to his inept DIY skills, to spending Christmas with his in-laws, his well-crafted set is always a highlight and a grand entertainment. Don't miss the chance to get your Rob Beckett tickets!
Following a successful stint at the Edinburgh Fringe, Beckett will take his Mouth of the South show to the rest of the country, starting at Maidstone's Hazlitt Theatre and wrapping up at the Cranleigh Arts Centre. Shows in Andover, Peterborough, Chelmsford, Bristol, Colchester and Tunbridge Wells are already sold out, but there are still plenty of Rob Beckett tickets elsewhere, including dates at Birmingham's Glee Club, Brighton's Corn Exchange, Salford Quays' The Lowry and Newport's Medina Theatre.
Beckett got his start on the small screen before he transitioned to theatre. He first appeared on screen playing Mike in an episode of university-based comedy drama Fresh Meat. Richard Bacon's Beer and Pizza Club, Fake Reaction, Sweat the Small Stuff, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The Singer Takes it All and Would I Lie To You? are just some of the TV shows that Beckett has guested on since. In 2014, Beckett was given the job as host of Absolute Radio's Sunday afternoon show, Rock'N'Roll Football, and recorded a successful podcast, The Magic Sponge, with former Premier League footballer Jimmy Bullard.
Although a one-man show, the Rob Beckett live experience is still an interactive one as the comedian bounces off the crowd's reactions and answers to innocuous questions in a gently-teasing but ever-friendly manner.
Beckett soon established himself on the stand-up circuit following his debut in 2009, winning four new comedian competitions including the Amused Moose Laugh-Off, as well as finishing runner-up in So You Think You're Funny. An acclaimed tour in Australia and a debut show at the Edinburgh Fringe entitled Rob Beckett's Summer Holiday then followed, and in 2012 he landed his first major TV gig when he joined Laura Whitmore and Joe Swash as co-host of ITV2's companion show, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! NOW! Beckett gained further exposure when he appeared several times as a panelist on 8 Out of 10 Cats, Celebrity Juice and Mock The Week, and the demand for Rob Beckett tickets further increased when he showcased his talents on BBC1's hugely popular Live at the Apollo.
With a show which draws largely on his own experiences of growing up in a big family, his new-found married life and his slow-burning rise to fame, it's little surprise that Rob Beckett doesn't need any outside help when heading out onto the road.
