Parkway Drive Biography - International Hit-Makers
The metalcore noise kings first found success with a joint EP alongside fellow metal monsters I Killed the Prom Queen called Split CD, but soon managed to head out on their own. Having garnered critical praise in their native Australia, they headed to America in 2004 to record their full-length debut with the help of producer and Killswitch Engage member Adam Dutkiewicz. After the release of Killing with a Smile, the band signed to Epitaph Records, allowing them to break into the US music scene.
The Aussie rockers' crossover appeal has seen them perform at the 2007 Vans Warped Tour - the only Australian band on the bill - and grace the stage at high-profile international festivals such as Download. Respected by their peers in addition to their dedicated fan base, the band has played alongside cult Canadian group Alexisonfire and popular New York rockers Taking Back Sunday. In between a slew of tour stops, the fivesome has garnered many an accolade, including the coveted ARIA award for Best Hard Rock Heavy Metal Album for the 2010 release Deep Blue. 2012 album Atlas had the band re-affirming their reputation as a powerhouse in the Australian metalcore scene, as did 2015's Ire.
