Old Trafford - Home of the Red Devils
One of the most famous in the world, this stadium has been home to Manchester United FC since 1910. It was first conceived after chairman John Henry Davies decided in 1909 that the previous Manchester United football ground at Bank Street was no longer suitable for a championship winning team. The new stadium was designed by architect Archibald Leitch and now has a full capacity of 75,731, making it the second largest football stadium in the UK.
Events at Old Trafford
The stadium regularly hosts some of the world's biggest international fixtures like the FA Cup, World Cup, Champion's league matches as well as Rugby League matches and notably the 2012 Summer Olympics. The stadium has also played host to live music, with performers ranging from Status Quo, to Bon Jovi and Simply Red.
The venue is easily accessible whether you are driving or using public transport, situated under two miles from Manchester city centre.
