What is drag racing?Drag racing is one of the oldest and purest forms of motor sports. It’s a straight-line acceleration contest to prove who is faster. Two cars line up in the staging lanes. In front of them is the Christmas tree. The lights on the Christmas tree will quickly flash yellow to let the drivers know it’s "go time." Less than a second later, they will flash green to signal for the drivers to go. They will then race down to the finish line.
What is one of the greatest NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals milestones? One of the greatest milestones occurred during the 2012 running of the event. In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Andrew Hines took a holeshot victory over Hector Arana Jr. In Pro Stock, it was the first time drivers Vincent Nobile and Jason Line ever faced each other in the final. Though Line left first, Noble quickly drove around him for the win. The Funny Car final proved to be a true underdog story as underdogs Mike Neff and Tim Wilkerson made the final round. The race was close, but Mike Neff would walk away with the Wally. In Top Fuel, underdog Spencer Massey would outdrive Steven Torrence for the victory. It was a weekend full of surprises and upsets, showing that you never know what can happen at a National.
