Neighbourhood Weekender – not your usual indie music festival
Neighbourhood Weekender is a somewhat distractingly folksy name for what has quickly become one of the most trend-setting indie music festivals around. It belies a dedication to creating an imaginative space all of its own, within which festivalgoers can enjoy arts and crafts, home-made organic food and a delicious combination of established artists and DJs, plus rising indie stars. Don't hesitate to buy or sell Neighbourhood Weekender tickets on StubHub as soon as they're available.
A youthful indie festival quickly growing up
While the Neighbourhood Weekender festival has only been going since 2018, it instantly began attracting some of the cream of the crop of the indie music scene, with international UK bands quickly signing on to play and local artists and DJs jumping at the chance to showcase their music in the cool surroundings of the festival village at Victoria Park in Warrington. It has since become an annual fixture on the music festival calendar, keeping trendy by creating a virtual festival village online, complete with treasure hunts and whodunnit mysteries for you to solve. This immersive conceptual approach to what started out as a relatively minor festival has seen it grow into a fan favourite as well. Which isn't surprising for a festival that has always offered an excellent and varied line-up, from indie-pop/blues crossover darling George Ezra to the finest band to come out of Newcastle since Dire Straits, Maximo Park. Sorry about that, Sting fans. You can get all of this and so much more by making sure you get Neighbourhood Weekender tickets the moment they go on sale.
The UK's most "woke" music festival
Neighbourhood Weekender has usually taken place annually during the UK spring. It's a lot more than just a music festival, too, with a very strong environmental and community ethos a strong driving force behind it. For instance, no food is allowed to go to waste during the festival weekend – all excess or wasted food is collected and distributed to the needy through the Nationwide Caterers Association. Similarly, no form of single-use plastic is allowed on the festival site at all, and on-site recycling is conducted for all waste material. Drinks are sold in compostable and biodegradable cups and containers. All in all, this is an indie festival that has all the right bases covered for socially conscious, possibly even hipster sensibilities, so it slots perfectly into today's youth zeitgeist. It has established a keen reputation for hosting leading indie artists in a "woke" environment that provides a consistent theme for all the activities on offer. But back to the music! If artists like Gerry Cinnamon are in your Spotify playlist, this is the festival for you. You might even be lucky enough to catch the return to the festival of The Vaccines – they promised us they were coming back! Get your Neighbourhood Weekender tickets early on StubHub.
