The National Collegiate Athletic Association added women's volleyball to their championship tournaments in 1981. Where is the NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship held?

The first and second rounds take place at 16 campus locations that are not predetermined. Four teams compete in single-elimination first rounds. The two winning teams then compete against each other in single-elimination second rounds at the same location. The remaining 16 winning teams advance to the regionals, which are held at four non-predetermined campus locations. Four teams compete in single-elimination regional semifinals at each location; then the two winners at each campus compete against each other in single-elimination regional finals. For 2019, the four final winning teams advanced to the Championship final location at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament begins with a field of 64 teams, 32 of which are automatically qualified. The remaining 32 are then selected from an at-large field by the Division I Women's Volleyball Committee.
