The Pro Lacrosse Experience
Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States and anyone who attends a game is quick to see exactly why. The speed and athleticism on display during a lacrosse game is nearly unlike that in any other sport, and when the game is moved indoors the intensity is ratcheted up even further. The Minnesota Swarm of the National Lacrosse League have long been one of the most popular teams in the league and regularly pack the Xcel Energy Center, helping to create an amazing atmosphere throughout the course of the season. While lacrosse may not generally be the first thing that outsiders think of when they hear of Minnesota, the Swarm have taken the city by storm in their near decade of existence. And when the Swarm are in the middle of a close one that has all the makings of an instant classic, you'll definitely be glad that you're not anywhere else.
Minnesota Swarm History
The Minnesota Swarm was founded in 2004 when the Minnesota Wild of the NHL purchased the Montreal Express, a then-dormant lacrosse team and brought them to Minnesota to share the Xcel Energy Center. Right from the start, the Swarm were a hit with their first exhibition game bringing in more than 14,000 fans and setting a National Lacrosse League record for attendance. Several players and officials for the Swarm have received league-wide honors including, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Transition Player of the Year, GM of the Year, Executive of the Year. They've also had players who have won the scoring title, the Tom Borrelli Awarad and the Les Bartley Award. With the Swarm ready to show that they have what it takes to chase a title, there has never been a better time to head out and see this team first-hand as they gear up looking to dominate the rest of their opposition this season.

The National Lacrosse League is an indoor lacrosse league that features five teams in Canada and four in the United States, with all teams competing for the Champions Cup. Aside from being a box lacrosse league, as opposed to an outdoor league, the NLL distinguishes itself by holding its season during the winter and spring while other professional, collegiate, and high school lacrosse is held during the spring and summer.
