Who is the head coach for the Minnesota Golden Gophers men’s hockey team?The Golden Gophers' head coach is Bob Motzko. Motzko joined Minnesota for the 2018–2019 season after a 13-year tenure with St. Cloud State. During his time at St. Cloud State, Motzko rebuilt the hockey program from the ground up, creating what is now a nationally recognized program. Bob Motzko also had a history with the Golden Gophers before being named head coach. He was an assistant coach for the Golden Gophers from 2001 to 2005. During that time, the Golden Gophers won national championships in both 2002 and 2003.
