Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More Show For The Road

Formed whilst in high-school in Jacksonville FL, the soon-to-be seminal band chose their name as a 'tribute' to a strict gym teacher at their school. Eventually signing to MCA after a storming performance in front of producer Al Kooper, the band released their first album featuring the Duane Allman-inspired hit 'Free Bird', which later led to an opening slot for The Who on their 1973 Quadrophenia tour. 1974's multi-platinum selling Second Helping saw the band achieve mainstream success with the irrepressible 'Sweet Home Alabama', whilst One More For The Road - the first of their many live album recordings - matched 1975's Nuthin' Fancy, breaking into the top ten in the US.

The powerhouse band somehow managed to overcome the tragedy of losing three members in a plane crash in 1977, embarking on a hugely popular reunion tour in 1988. Such was the success of the tour that the rockers decided to head back into the studio, with each offering yet more evidence that the guys have still got what it takes.
