Like many country stars, Luke Bryan relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, in the hopes of making it big. Shortly after arriving in Nashville, Bryan was signed to a publishing house where he found great success with songwriting. He is credited with writing the title track for country legend Travis Tritt's 2004 album, My Honky Tonk History. Eventually, Bryan was signed to Capitol Nashville but continued to work as a successful songwriter. During this period, Bryan co-wrote the No.1 hit single "Good Directions" with country singer Billy Currington.
Luke Bryan's 2007 debut single, "All My Friends Say", placed amongst the Top 5 on the Hot Country Songs Chart. A few months later, Bryan released his first album entitled I'll Stay Me. Bryan experienced success with two of the album's singles, but his songs did not reach any of the top ten positions on music charts. In October 2009, Bryan released his second album, Doin' My Thing, which earned the star multiple awards and recognition amongst country music fans.
