Lily Allen announces 2018 UK and Ireland 'No Shame' tour
When she first burst on to the music scene in 2004 with her distinctive ska-peppered pop album Alright Still, Lily Allen instantly captivated a horde of fans and went on to sell over three million copies of her debut LP. Famous for her controversial wit and no holds barred lyrics, the daughter of British actor Keith Allen would go on to become a key figure in the UK charts.
After bowing out of the limelight to get married and start a family, the "Smile" singer decided the charts needed a strong female voice. In 2014, her super successful comeback album Sheezus proved that, 10 years after her debut record, she's still as relevant as ever, before critically acclaimed fourth album No Shame saw Allen open up after her troubled relationship with her ex-husband and her substance abuse. Lily Allen: the unique and tempestuous talent
One of the most famous faces on the pop scene, Lily Allen's unique amalgamation of pop, ska and electro made her an almost instant international superstar. Her self-promotion on now defunct social network MySpace captured a huge fan base in the mid-2000s, prompting the star to drop out of school and harness her musical talent. Innovative tracks such as "Smile" kick-started her career, earning her Grammy nominations and flawless reviews from critics. One of the most fearless females in the British charts, she charmed the nation with her carefree attitude on debut album Alright Still, buoyed by catchy tracks such as "LDN". She displayed a new found maturity in her next record It's Not Me, It's You, satirising celebrity culture in songs such as "The Fear".
Allen released her third studio album Sheezus in 2014 after a lengthy musical hiatus following the birth of her two children, Ethel and Marnie. The controversially-titled LP went straight to number one in the UK album charts, buoyed by the misogynist-mocking electro-pop single "Hard Out Here", showcasing Allen's everlasting appeal even after a lengthy hiatus. Always keen to put on a show for fans, Lily has made a full return to action after the record's release and threw herself into playing festivals all over the world once again, including a sensational sets at V Festival and Electric Picnic. Fourth album No Shame was released in June 2018, with Allen touring the UK in the winter. Grab Lily Allen tickets now at StubHub UK.
